Thanksgiving

One perk of being a teacher is that I get a week off for Thanksgiving, which I am so thankful for. This past week off has been such a blessing to me and really allowed me to be refreshed by my family and the slowness of the week. It is the simple things in life that I am able to enjoy when I am on vacation: staying up until 2 am watching movies with Josh, Christmas drinks from Starbucks, walking Mt. Rubidoux, going to the park, and mid afternoon naps.

LANDON UPDATE
Landon has grown so much this past month. He has two teeth, which has made each night of sleep like Russian Roulette. He is now crawling ( well army crawling). Landon is eating more solid foods and snacks. Currently his favorite is baby puffs aka Baby Crack, which he cannot get enough of . He has such a great sense of humor and loves to play and dance. I cannot believe that my little baby is now nine months old and beginning to become such an individual. Josh and I love being his parents and feel so blessed to have our little guy!

So I am bad at this blogging thing

So it occurred to me today that it has been 3 months since my last post-opps. I am hoping to become better at blogging, but the changes and pace of life makes it difficult at times.
Let me run down the past three months:

Summer Camp:
This was my first year not being a counselor and so it was very different for me. I was able to sit back and watch the week unfold, but not really participate. It was eye opening as I realized that my role is now very different. I am there to support my husband and try to be an example in the background. I really enjoyed the week and got to spend some great time with great friends!Chile
Landon did amazing on the long plane ride. I couldn't have been more proud. I really enjoyed this trip as I was able to hang out with my Chilean family and really be encouraged by them and how they live life. I am always amazed by the love and passion of the Chilean people. This was a great trip for Josh and I. We could not have asked for a better team of young adults, who loved Landon and the Chileans!! I can hardy wait for next year.

-Landon started eating rice cereal and veggies

-I got to spend time with my best friend
-I started back to work- a harsh reality
-My mom and sister moved across the county

-We Moved to a new house

-I turned 27

The pace and changes of life are almost scary, but I am learning to enjoy each moment and to embrace where we are at. I am looking forward to the places we will be going. I love my family and I trust that we are being obedient to our place in life at this moment.

Summer is here

Now that I am officially off of work for two months I can say that summer is here. I am so thankful for my time off. It is so nice to hang out with family and friends. I have only been off of work for one week, but it has been action packed!

My little baby has turn four months old. Landon had his four month checkup and my big boy is 16 pounds. This is great news, because he was so small for the first two months. Everyday Landon is growing and getting more and more personality. He has started giggling and babbling, which is so cute. We are still working very hard at keeping him off of his "flat head". I am hoping it rounds out by his next appointment or we may have to look at some options to help his head round out, again I am paranoid about this.

I put away Landon's newborn and 3 month old clothing with minimal tears. I cannot believe how small he was and how much he has grown

Landon was dedicated at church and most of our family was able to be there as we committed to raise Landon up in a Christian home. We are prayerfully awaiting the day that Landon decides that he wants to follow Christ, but we know that it will be his decision. It was a very special night for us.

Josh, Landon, Pastor Jim, and I

We started cloth diapers ( don't worry I now have a clothes line)

Landon is battling a diaper rash, so he has been without pants most of this week

We have seen two movies ( A-Team and Killers) this week and Landon did great

This week was also fourth of July. We had a great time at The Point's pool party. Landon went swimming for his first time and he isn't too sure about the pool yet. Our neighborhood had a block party, but we did not attend. After a full day in the pool Landon was exhausted. Don't worry though our entire street was standing in front of our house setting off fireworks and cheering as Landon was sleeping, so I felt like we attended.

Parenthood

Parenthood has been so much fun so far. Our days now consist of tummy time, naps, feedings, diapers, bath time, and morning wake up calls.

Tummy time has become a huge part of our day, because we ( when I say we I mean I) do not want Landon to get a flat head. Tummy time is also important, so Landon can learn to roll over, crawl, and hold his head up. I am a bit crazy about tummy time and Josh has labeled me a tummy time advocate. Landon is super excited to participate in tummy time :D ( not really)
Landon really likes bath time
Landon is pretty good at taking naps. He cries for 10 minutes and then falls asleep. This is when I get my cleaning and laundry done.

All in all I think that we adjusting pretty well and we love having Landon around. As summer begins we are gearing up for things to get busier . I am looking forward to being off of work and to hanging out with my boys.

The Blogging Journey

I cannot believe it I have created a blog. I wanted a way to share and document our life. I am new to the whole blogging world, so here goes nothing...
